The Ties That Bind
Much of my work springs out of my desire to record and investigate the personal and generational ties between family identities, how we are like and unlike each other, how we try and fail to infuse a sense of relationship with the gaze of others through the lens.
A highly personal account in photographs and words of the last few months of my mother's life.
This was a project on self- and familial identity made for my BA.
These early composite photographs explore generational memory as image and the reversing of care roles between mother and child in the family.
The Savage & Beautiful Country is a book available on Blurb. The other two projects appear in my book, PORTRAITS, a portfolio book made in 2007 also available on Blurb.
